Successful Record Shop For Sale In Exeter, Exmouth & Dawlish
Exeter, Exmouth & Dawlish, Devon
Business overviewWe are an established new and used vinyl record, cd and dvd store located in Exeter, Devon which has not only a large local customer base but also repeat custom from buyers worldwide.
Rooster Records first opened it doors in early December 1995. At that time we were located in Taunton, Somerset where we built up a loyal customer base and traded successfully until the end of 2007. However, owing to vastly increased stock levels and the need for growth, we sought larger premises and decided to expand the business to Exeter, Devon where we opened in November 2006. For about 18 months we traded from both stores but eventually decided to concentrate on the by now established Exeter store and sold the Taunton store as a going concern where it continues to trade to this day under a different name.
The business deals in new and used vinyl records, compact discs and music dvds and sources its stock from either used collections purchased or new items ordered from a large variety of wholesalers in the UK and worldwide.
We have built up a huge local and nationwide customer base as well as a large amount of repeat custom from overseas. The thriving city of Exeter is superbly positioned as the gateway to the south-west of England. It has a large population of nearly 130,000 people with excellent transport links, a leading University, a rich cultural heritage and a flourishing tourist trade.
In more recent years we have expanded the operation online selling storeroom stock under a separate user name and although this part of the business is not included in the sale, it would be relatively straightforward for any new owner of the business to also expand in this way.
Now, after nearly 22 years of successful trading we are seeking to sell the Exeter store as a going concern. The value placed upon the business is for the goodwill and fixtures & fittings. Either a full front of shop stock or a skeleton stock to allow a smooth transition is open to negotiation.
